aol help...

This comes from the Aol Help section....
If you prepare for the download you should have no problem
Before you sign on, run your Scan Disk and defragment your hard drive(s) then
restart your computer, turn off any "Crash Guard" program you may have
running. Restart your computer and sign on, turn off the IM's and start the
download.
Follow the directions and answer the questions asked during the installation.
You should have no problems.

For those concerned if you have PPP
AOL has PPP (Go to the word Help at the top of your screen, choose About
America Online, and then hold down the Ctrl key and press the Y key this will
show if your PPP is active or not, if it is not check the phone number you
connect with to see if it is enabled.)

If you find the new welcome screen annoying......
Wether you are using aol4 or aol5, just minimize the welcome screen,
then drag it out of your way to some spot,
click on window at the top of your screen, or press alt and w ,
then hit forget size and position
then hit remember window size and position.

Then whenever you sign on the welcome screen will automatically minimize, and
go over to the spot where you put it, and you no longer have to look at it
gain, accept that it will be in that spot in a minimized form.
I keep mine minimized behind the buddy list window.

Good luck And I hope nobody has problems....
