The dues will have to be raised, as the AHS is operating in the red.
"Modify publications"==this is Newspeak for cutting back on the budget of THE
HOSTA JOURNAL to retain that worthless THE YEARBOOK.
:Committee to develop "Hosta Primer"--not a bad idea, although I think
everyone should know that this is the brainchild of Bob Solberg. Such info
could be put in an issue of THJ at little cost, rather than publishing a
separate booklet. And you KNOW who will get the contract for publication of
such.
As Ran points out in his posting, what about proxy and/or mail-in ballots?
In Jim Hawes posting which quotes from Jim Wilkins' posting to him, Jim wants
input from the members. Many moons ago, I offered to donate monies for a
garden award for the best grown species hosta in a tour garden. I never heard
anything from anyone about this.
At any rate, the PGP is dead. Perhaps that decision justifies the amount of
$$$ that members paid for the transportation expenses of those who attended
the meeting, which, btw, was ultra vires the By-Laws.
