Daylilies

Hello from Richmond, VA.
First time responding to this kind of questioning. It looks interesting.
We have had daylilies for many years. I have never had a single bloom that
didn't "die" and hang like a wet sock until I removed it. No
rebloomers....but many that bloom for long periods of time...putting out new
lilies each day. I do like to keep the old blooms picked off.
We started by buying from Wild in the Midwest. Wonderful lilies. Then we
had to the good fortune to have a son move to the Waynesboro area, just down
the road from the Andre Viette farms. The Viettes have long been in the
forefront of daylilies. Their gardens are a joy to visit this time of
year.....and also to see the fields thick with the blooms.
Good luck. This is a most satisfying plant.....very undemanding. Grows in
any kind of soil...does like sun, contrary to some books.
