Day Lily Questions

Hi!

I am new to the world of day lilies, but really enjoy them.  I
have planted 3 plants this year from my local nursery.  One has
begun to bloom and all three have many new buds that will start
opening soon.  I am wondering if any of you have experience with
your day lilies closing and then re-opening the next day?  So far
the one that has bloomed has opened at night then closed at night
and not ever opened again.  At the nursery where I purchased them
I overhead them talking to another customer and stating that they
will last "5  to 6 days".  When I questioned this nurseryman he
said " that is under the right conditions".  Has anyone else had
this experience and what are the right conditions?  He was really
busy so I did not get a chance to ask him.  Thanks for your help.
