carnations, lavender, begonias

I started my begonia bulbs indoors a few weeks ago. They are in an east facing window, and doing well. The local gardening stores say that now is the time to start them indoors.

I grew carnations and lavender from seed, starting both indoors. Bunnies got the lavender. The carnation spent this past winter in the garden, stayed quite green, and now have lots of new leaves. Bunnies ate a lot of this too, but didn't get the whole thing. It should bloom this year. Based on my experience of starting them indoors, I'd tell Jae to pot up the new plants. I used a south facing window for seedlings last year, and this year everything is in the basement under grow lights.

BTW, my carnations needed protection from my cats! Then love to nibble the grass-like leaves, and killed a lot of my seedlings.
