Philedendron problems

I have had my beautiful philedendron for approx. 3 months now, but it
seems to be forming small brownish-black spots on its leaves.  I have
tried spraying insecticide on them, but the spots continue to grow. I
dont see any white, red or black bugs in the soil, or on the leaves or
anything.

Could anyone advise me on this problem?
