Web page

Andrew shot some video film of plants in the sunlounge this afternoon, and
has put some stills from the film on my web page. It seemed the quickest
way to get some pictures up before all the plants finish for the season!
They aren't the best I've ever seen, but will give you some idea of what I
have - including my Gloxinia. The page is still under construction, just
pictures, no descriptions until next weekend, but you are still welcome to
visit. You can get to it at:

BTW, I have confirmation - of sorts - that the plant I
described earlier this week (just called Velvetia) is indeed an Impatiens.
My RHS journal this month has an article on them and there was a picture of
my flower over the content headings. But not a word about it in the text!!

Andrew must have been feeling generous this weekend, because
apart from OFFERING to do the web page, he bought me a book yesterday that
I have been waiting for for several years. It is by Roger Phillips and
Martin Rix and is the first volume (of 2) entitled 'Conservatory and House
Plants'. If you have never seen the books by these two, they are really
worth hunting out, every plant he mentions has a photo and a brief
description - Phillips does the text and Rix the photography. I have most
of the books in the series, including Bulbs, Perennials, Trees and Roses;
the paperback versions are published by Pan and the hardbacks by
Macmillian.
