Hi Nancy,
Achimenes seem to like more light than african violets, and a fair amount
of water. I don't think they like the heat; they tend to slooooow right
down in August even here (summer temps in the 90's F). I would bet you
though, that you're doing everything right with the plants. My houseplant
'bible', _the apartment gardener_ said, in 1974, that the authors couldn't
grow achimenes in their apartment in New York, because the plants were so
sensitive to pollution they didn't flower. I haven't seen this in any other
plant book, so maybe the new varieties are less sensitive? I don't know.
Anyone else in New York growing them?
