anyway, I have one I bought at the begining of September and it has a bloom
stalk on it that was there when I bought it, but so far it hasnt opened. Im
wondering if I should wait and see if it will open or cut it off, or if there
is something I can do to help it open. I have no idea what kind it is, its
green and white verigated, and the flower head is red and still just as
tightly closed as it was the day I bought it.
Thanks for any help >>
The bromeliads are epiphytic needing special treatment in the indoor garden.
There is so much to know I wonder if directing you to a library might be the
best idea. My library (Albany, New York) has a large 635 section. You could
borrow an armload of indoor plant guides and would probably find them an
inspiration.
You might check the huge bookstore bargain tables as well. And, if searching
for used books, certainly a savings, a good place to start is ABE - Book
Exchange. The search form is found by clicking:

If you use the keyword or subject word "indoor plants or houseplants" there is
usually quite a good selection.
