hi yall,
has anyone ever grown gingers? i have had no luck in the past with
Kaempferia, Globba, Curcuma etc. stokes tropicals and other companies offer
wonderful varieties but inside an apartment, they don't seem to do well.
i have right now a Kaempferia that i got at a farmer's market, i don't know
which species, which does well, blooms a lot and grows every year. also, a
Hedychium coronarium, from stokes, is growing right now but no blooms yet.
another plant that i also got from stokes is a Curcuma sp. Sleeping Princess,
it also grows but doesn't bloom.
i have tried in the past with no success Monocostus uniflorus, Alpinia
purpurata, Curcuma roscoena, Globba winitii and several Kaempferia species.
if anyone grows gingers, please share your experiences.
in re: to seeds of pereskia, i have gotten several requests and i'm out of
seeds for now. also, when the topic changes in our discussions, it would be
helpful if you change the subject line. it's just useful for all of us,
otherwise, i'm reading emails titled "seeds offer" when the topic is addressed
to barbara and her orchids.
thanks,
