Taking a stab at your problem I would guess you are not watering enough.
Spaths do not want to dry out.  Thalassa Cruso's book on indoor plants (old
but good) described the collapse of this plant when subjected to drought.  I
have a spath and it has collapsed on occasion from neglect.  One tends to
think this plant is very durable indoors.

If water is not your problem, you could knock it out the pot and look at the
roots.  With healthy roots you should have a good plant.
