I think that if the temperature declines gradually some plants will adapt
but if there is a sudden drop many tropical plants are unable to survive it.
I couldn't understand why the leaves on my Serissas were constantly turning
brown and the new ones were very tiny until I happened to move one from the
porch (temps down to 65F) to the basement where the temp hovers around 70F.
It immediately started sending out regular sized leaves and the old ones
stopped dying.
That's one of the joys of indoor gardening. You never know what will happen
until you try. My philosophy for the day :-)
