[INDOOR-GARDENING:96] ADMINISTRIVIA: attachments/embedded images

Hi, gang - just a friendly reminder from your Listmom about attachments.

Please DO NOT post attachments or embedded images to the list. It can
cause all sort of problems for people with different mail programs than
yours. In general, it is considered poor netiquette to send ANYONE an
unsolicited attached file (which is what an embedded image is for mail
programs that can't interpret it). By sending it to the list, you are
sending said unsolicited file to 350 people.

As a rule, attachments are okay privately if you:
1) get the recipient's okay beforehand,
2) the recipient has the appropriate software to view or run the attached
file, and
3) you make sure the attachment you are sending is free of viruses.

Some e-mail programs allow people to view the embedded images but be aware
that this is not the norm. The same goes for messages formatted in HTML.
Check the settings on your mail program and specify 'plain text only'.

Thanks!
