Tsuh,

I am very impressed with this list.   I think it is time that you tell us
about your growing area and conditions.  You obviously have great success.  Do
you use lights?  Please elaborate a bit.

I have no gingers, I thought them warm temp. plants and I have a cool glassed
room.  I do have a huge calla lily (aethiopica) blooming.  This is a large
vigorous plant needing a heavy clay pot to stay upright.  It cannot be
overwatered, it will stand in water.  With a 50 degree temp at night and what
the sun adds in the day this plant has been blooming all winter.

A tip for those near the Home Depot.  For $1.63 there were, yesterday, primula
malacoides in many colors. They were healthy beautiful plants to add color to
collections of foliage plants.  They last for about six weeks in my cool space
and are then discarded.  Home Depot had a large selection of flowering plants
to make February cheerier, all at very small prices.

I also bought my first orchid, a dendrobium.   It is labelled d. nagasaka red.
There are four stems and three bloomstalks.  This may be poor orchid
terminology, I shall do some reading.  This orchid was less than 10.00 at the
same place. A fellow shopper advised me while he bought five of the assorted
selection.  My orchid is a winter bloomer and has delicate deep red-violet
flowers in a long spray.  

In upstate New York we have ice, ice, and more ice.
