I too have had gingers. After 5 years of very nice leaves dying and
resurrecting, I finally pitched it when the frost came this year. My original
ginger was a piece which grew and filled a pot. In this I addes a piece of
edible ginger. It also thrived. But, stupidly, I then could not tell the
flowering from the edible. At least I could have harvested the edible. Never
a flower on any and I could not get information. I am intriqued and would try
again -- with detailed guidance. In fact may give edible ginger a try on my
own, nothing to lose. How do you get flowers????? Batya Levin, Bronx, NY
