Re: Amaryllis


Hi Shirley:
The plant you are thinking of is also an Amaryllis or one of its relatives.
We always called them Naked Ladies.  That's what the nurseries sell them as
around here.  They send up a flower stalk first, and then the leaves come
later.  I don't know of any Amaryllis which sends up leaves first, with the
possible exception of the one above.
