Molly,
I'm not sure about your peace lily but your closing statement "Hope
all your outdoor gardens are fruitful" leads me to ask all this
question:
We are fortunate enough to have fruit trees all around the perimeter
of our backyard. We have in order of appearance:
Apricot
Cherry (new-planted this spring)
Cherry
Cherry
Nectarine
Apple
Peach
Apple
Peach (new-planted this spring)
Pear (new-planted this spring)
Plum
Seems something is up with the Apricot though. It was progressing
nicely, lots of leaves, lots of fruit and suddenly two center branches
are drying up and dying off. We just planted a new variety of cherry
next to it this year to cross pollinate the two existing cherry's.
Might we have disturbed just part of the root system that feeds only
the center branches? We also pulled up some lemon mint and oregano
that had been growing beneath. Again if we touched the root system are
apricots that sensitive? It's very sad to see the center of a tree
die.
Also any comments or suggestions as to if we should prune off these
branches now or wait until dormant season?
Thanks all.
Lynn
