Dear Molly,
Are you feeding the plant regularly? Has it been repotted lately?
I haven't grown these before, but they are supposed to be pretty tough.
Not sure if my second question is very pertinent, since I think that this
plant (Aspidistra, right?) is a favorite of a lot of people in part
because it can go for years with no repotting, yet still perform quite well.

I'm sure that someone on the list can help you. Didn't some guy
mention being pleased with his; that he didn't do much except water it,
and that he would give it a little high bloom fertilizer every so
often, when it stopped flowering. In the
meantime, I'll ask a friend who grows several of these, including a couple
of unusual (or at least different, not as common ones).

Don't feel too bad about having problems with what is known to be
an easy plant. I have a couple of kohlerias (a gesneriad) which look
great, are in full bloom. One has more flowers than I've ever had on a
kohleria, due to having grown it in a south-facing window. But I have a
couple of others which seem to _stay_ stunted, no matter what I do. I
just changed the soil on one such plant this morning. It is in a 2 or 3"
pot, so not taking up that much room, but if it is still stunted-looking
in six months, I'm throwing it, and the other 3 like it, in the compost
pile, to make room for ones which _do_ perform for me.

Good luck,
