woodchucks

-- [ From: nonayobusiness * EMC.Ver #2.3 ] --

HEY EVERYBODY! HAPPY SUMMER!!!! JUST THINK, THE DAYS ARE GETTING SHORTER
NOW!!!

So far I've relocated 5 woodchucks. There's at least one more, ENORMOUS
one, that refuses to get caught, but is still hanging around, defoliating
my yard. I have the biggest size trap and I think he is big enough to hold
the door open with his rear end, so he can push out when the door comes
down on him. I bait the trap with sliced cabbage, and I leave it in there
overnight. The only other things caught in there were a squirrel, and a
SKUNK! I draped myself in plastic to go and let him out, but he was much
calmer about the whole thing than I and was kind enough not to spray.
Somebody said that they make the trap low enough to keep them from being
able to lift their tails and commit the dastardly deed. I don't know why I
suddenly thought of this, but 2 years ago, when we had that big drought,
all my plants were outside and these squirrels came and ate back all my
xmas cacti and my orchids. I guess they were juicy from my regular
watering habits. Has anybody else ever experienced this kind of annoying
thing? Lauren B. in muggy Z.6
