Hi all,
Forgive me for not knowing the "real" name of my plants... I probably
couldn't spell/pronounce them anyway!!
In the front yard, we have an island bed with a small three tiered water
fountain (which the birds love) at one end and a huge tree stump at the other
end. On top of the tree stump, I have a big bowl planted with Vinca vine,
variegated(sp?) leaves, and Red Petunias. Between the fountain and the stump,
we have Purple, Blue, and Pink Lisianthus (bell/cup shaped flowers with thick
lime green colored leaves). We also have various colors of Cockscomb planted
there as well.
I have a big pale pink rose bush growing in the front corner of my yard which
is doing wonderfully right now. Under our mailbox, I have purple, pink, and
red Petunias and Morning Glories to climb the pole.
Against the front of the house, we have Azaleas and Elephant Ears, and Cannas
planted.
On my front porch, I've got 8 or 10 flower boxes. Some have Petunias, Dusty
Miller, and Morning Glories. Others have Verbena, Carnations, and Moon Vine.
I also have 2 hanging baskets with Airplane plants.
I have two bushes on my porch that I bought from Wal-Mart just 'cause
they were pretty which I have no idea what they are called. They have dark
green, pointed, narrow leaves in clusters, and produce a gorgeous yellow bloom
which looks a lot like a honeysuckle bloom.
On my back porch, I have 8 or 10 flower boxes filled much like the front
porch. I have a New Guinea Impatien with the most beautiful pink blooms on
purple/red leaves. I have 5 hanging baskets of Purple and Red Petunias. The
Purple have an outstanding smell- I can smell them all over the back yard, and
when I pull the spent blooms off- they stick to my fingers! The tag did not
say Wave Petunia, but I wonder. My original 2 baskets have already been split
into 4 and they are much bigger around than I could reach- they don't seem to
be growing down, so much as out.
I have two Majestic Palms which sit out by my 125gallon pond w/3 Koi in it. I
have two ferns and a "swan" filled with red petunias out there to. Against
the fence, I've got mixed Gladiolus, cannas, and four o'clocks growing.
I have 4 Hibiscus- 1red, 3peach. I've got a Flowering Maple, Aloe,
Schefflera, Corn Plant, and a Devil's Backbone. hehehe, I also have some
potted Peter Pepper plants.
Ooops, I forgot all the containers of carnations, hosta, Verbena, mums, and
Hydrangeas in the side yard under the (blooming) Magnolia tree!!! Well, you
folks are probably tired of hearing me rattle on anyway!!!
BTW, I love reading this list about all the plants indoors and out!
Good Gardening,
Kathy
