Re: Aloe Plant Advice Please!!

Regarding Lily's problems with her Aloe: If your plant is getting top
heavy, repot it.

If there are spots on the leaves, cut them off. You can actually freeze
the leaves and save them to use the gel for burns, cuts, sunburns, etc.,

Have mine outside in pots (live in Tucson, Arizona) and also one in my
kitchen.

There is no such thing as pruning an aloe. The only time they should have a
leaf cut is when the gel is needed for medicinal purposes and then only cut
off as much as needed.

They do not need to be fertilized and do not need very much water. When the
leaves begin to change color (they will begin to look pale) and/or they are
no longer nice and plump you know its time to water. They really are an
almost maintenance-free plant.

One year I made the mistake of planting sweetpeas seeds into the pot and
rotted the plant. Merely dug it out of the pot, cut off the rotted stem,
let it sit out for several weeks until it developed a scab and then
repotted it.
