Overwatered fern..HELP!

I have overwatered my boston fern and it is dying a slow death. The
drainage was bad and I didn't know, until now. It was pretty big, but
now all the fronds are dead. I cut them and the soil is ok now. The
roots weren't damaged by this because I got there in time. Will it grow
back? There's about 5-6 fronds left on what used to be a huge bundle of
life. My books haven't been very helpful with this and the sites I
visited either. I never cut back a fern before (not this dramatically).
I don't know what will happen. Please help me.
