hi, afm (you don't tell us what your first name is),

welcome to the list.  i don't know where you live, i assume you live in
manhattan, i myself live in brooklyn.  just for your information, there
is an indoor-gardening society that meets in manhattan every month.  if
you need more info on attending a meeting, let me know. 

and, yes, we city folks rarely have balconies, gardens or other outdoor
space to grow things, but we try.  some of us don't even have southern
exposure!  folks in small towns or suburbia are really lucky, i'm always
envious of people with greenhouses, sunrooms, patios etc.  oh well, maybe
one day.
