Hi Jess,

Mine also had those nagging brown edges until I finally
moved into my bedroom where a humidifier runs every
night in the winter months.  It needed that added
moisture in the air b/c those brown spots don't appear
anymore.

In the summer I set it outside on the front porch (no
direct sunlight) where it enjoys that good ol'
midwestern humidity.
