>> If the leaves are purplish- green, or purple, the "angel in a cradle"
is
probably "Moses in the cradle", which is a rhoeo of some sort. <<
Rhoeo Discolor gets its common name of 'Moses-in-a-cradle' from
the way the small white flowers are in cased in boat shaped bracts - hence
its other name of 'Boat Lily'.
Karen, do you know if your mystery plant flowers, if so any idea
what they might be like? I couldn't find anything like this in my books -
am longing to know what it is!!
>> My sago palm's leaves have all turned yellow and drooped, the
cycad's leaves are turning brown. <<
Diana, your Sago palm (Cycas revoluta) and Cycad could be
suffering from drought. The fronds of mine turn yellow and then brown if I
am not quick enough off the mark with my watering can! I cut off any dead
fronds and the plant recovers...so far! [It has suffered for 6 years in
this manner, about time I learnt not to abuse it so, I guess:-)]
