Maybe that's the problem. Maybe everyone is out there >gardening and I'm the
only one inside.

You sure aren't the only one, Christine.  I'm a stay at home mom and some
days it seems I never get out of this house. :-)  Plus I live in Oregon so
rain, rain, rain.  I'm always puttering around with my plants inside, but
unfortunately they don't do a whole lot most of the time.  The only ones
really worth talking about are the African violets, and there's a whole
other list for that. :-)

Everything I have is doing great, no casualties lately. :-)  Though I am
seriously considering throwing out a swedish ivy that I'm really getting
sick of.
