Re: What's growing on?

Good grief Jim, you've really got a lot of plants! :-)

Now that I look around my place... I've got a Gymnocalicium cactus blooming
(it's had at least one bud on it constantly since I got it a year ago). A
jade plant that got busted down to stumps after being sat on by a
15-month-old is resprouting finally.

I've also got a hoya that I've had for 6 years that has big long whips
sprouting out all over (I'm running out of room on the brass hoop that I'm
winding it on) but still not a single bloom. That darn thing has got to be
potbound by now!

And our local garden center finally got the Wave petunias, so I got a big
long planter box and put in 3 pinks and 2 purples; I've never grown them
before and I can't wait to see what they do. I'm just hoping I didn't
overdo it.

I replanted my strawberry jar...put a dracaena in the top and ivy in the
pockets. I got tired of replacing annuals every year so this seems to be
the better option and still looks nice. I redid some of my other planters,
taking out the leggy violas that I didn't feel like cutting back and
replaced them with coleus in the shady spots and mini-carnations and ivy
geraniums in the sunny spots. The established pots in the back are finally
coming into bloom. The heliotropes I planted a month ago are opening up and
the scent is heavenly.

The African violets are doing well. In bloom right now are: Little Bo Peep,
Optimara California, 3 that are unnamed but loved anyway, Eureka, Rob's
Sticky Wicket, Apple Blossom, Teeny Bopper, Falling Snow, Nubian Star,
Ultraviolet Saturn, Optimara Little Crystal, and S. House of Amani. A plant
of Golden Threads that I raised from a leaf is finally in bud and I can't
wait to see how much yellow it will have in it.
