Hi.  Someone else may have already answered your question.  But have you 
tried pinching back the plants.  I continuing pinch my plants back to assure 
that the lower branches and stems get strong.  Don't be afraid to break off 
the outer skinny thin stems.  The plant will adjust and grow new stronger 
branches.
