There are many different kinds of jasmines. I have about 4-5 myself. Sambac
is one of the best. Last summer I accidently dried it out too much. I cut
it back and it's bouncing back. It blooms and blooms. But I suspect that
all of them need to rest and you have to watch the blooming patterns to see
when they might be idling. Also taking from a greenhouse to a home
environment could be quite a shock and it might need a while to acclimate.
Don't transplant and unless it has new growth now, don't feed as it might be
going to sleep. Sambac was a summer bloomer.
On the other hand I have one that blooms in January. I'm feeding it high
phosphorus now to try to get it to set buds.
Generally I think jasmines are like interesting children. You have to do
what's right by them, watch them, take clues from them. But realize they may
do the unexpected. BTW I often think that plants don't succeed because we
buy basically not well rooted cuttings which look great but may not have good
foundations. This is okay in the summer when they'll grow but if it's pre
dormant season, don't blame yourself. It may be fated not to make it.
