Hi liz, 
        I grew 2 mango trees a couple of years ago. Here's the secret: After
you eat the ripe mango let the seed dry out completely. The fiberous shell
should harden upon drying. Carefully open the outer shell and inside there
should be an "inner seed" which looks like a large bean. Plant that in some
potting soil, keep it warm and you should see it sprout within a couple of
weeks. Good luck! FYI, I heard that mango leaves are poisonous.
