New plants

Hi, all...
I'm new to the list, so I'll introduce myself. My name is Florence,
but everybody calls me Joey (a childhood nickname). I've just been
given several HUGE plants. A friend didn't have the room indoors, so,
in order to avoid killing them during the winter, I inherited them. My
problem is, I'm scared to death. Let me explain. The poinsetta is 12
years old and as big as a tree. There's also an avacado tree that
stands about 5 feet tall and spreads to about 6 ft. The California
prickly pear cactus stands taller than me and I'm 5'7". Then there's a
verigated maple tree that's about 3 feet tall, an Angel Wing begonia
that's almost 4 foot tall. Can somebody give me some advise on how to
winter these plants. They're old and very beautiful. It would just
break my heart to see them die for lack of the know-how to care for them

Thanks in advance,
Joey
