Loosing leaves

I've brought in the poinsetta (tree) for the winter and even though it
gets 4 hours of sun daily from a south window and plenty of water, the
leaves are turning yellow and falling off (at least a dozen or so a
day). Is this normal? A couple of my other plants are doing the same
thing, the Mexican Love Plant, for instance. I wonder if it's a shock
to them to come indoors. If so, will they come out of it and adjust, or
will they just keep dying!? HELP!!!
