Hi Gerry! It's always good to have indoor=gardening-list-messages from
you as you seem to be quite knowledgable. I thought, while your're on
the subject of plumeria, you might be interested in hearing about my
son's experience with one. A friend brought it to him from Hawaii three
years ago this winter. It was the usual "stick".. He planted it in a pot
of leca stones, and set the pot in a container about half full of a
MiracleGro solution. It sent out leaves in the spring and grew well so
long as he kept the outer container filled with enough fertilizer
solution to almost cover the leca. When it got low, the leaves drooped.
He let it dry out each winter, and go dormant then gave it water again
when it began to get new leaves in the spring. It has one branch, but
hasn't bloomed yet. Isn't plumeria usually grown with "very good
drainage"? This one seems to think it's a water lily!
