Sue,
I'm just down the road from you in Clinton Township, and I'm finding that putting them in a sunny window, such as a west one,
gives them the warmth of the daytime sun, and the coolness of the night hasn't bothered them either. I brought in coleus that
are adjusting well, and also heard that you can take cuttings from marigolds and root them in water, so I'm going to give that a
try. The idea of blooms in the windowsills in the winter sounds so very nice.
I have a pot of gladiolas that is in a western window in my bedroom as well, brought in from the outside to brighten up a
corner, and they're doing well..the growth has slowed but hasn't detracted from their beauty.
Just about any plant can come inside in the winter, and some will make it, some won't. Good luck to you!
Can someone help me with preparing paperwhite bulbs for bloom in the winter? Have had them wrapped up in newspaper and darkness
for a few months...can they just be put in a pot of dirt now and set in a sunny window?
