Hi Diana and everyone
Sorry to hear you are having even more problems with the rheumatoid
arthritis. Have faith Diana.
On the question of pots plunged in sand, you might like too read Geoff
Rollinson's article on The Alpine House which he wrote for me.
http://web.ukonline.co.uk/alpines/alpine%20house.htm
This goes into details about how, what, where and when and may just give you
the encouragement to have a go at this type of gardening. If you need any
more info, please don't hesitate to ask.
Incidentally, there are many plants that can be grown in pots without
needing overhead protection and this would probably be even more of a good
idea for those who have difficulty using your hands.
One other point, if it is possible to have the sand beds raised on brick (or
substitute) pillars, this also alleviates the need for bending. Hope this
helps.
Best Regards
Alan
