Hi:
Is everyone making troughs. I sure wish I could figure out
how to publicize this list a bit more and get some
conversations going.
Yessterday I found a wonderful miniature viola called Viola
verecunda var yakusimana. Has anyone here grown it in a
trough as suggested by the nursery owner? If so, did it
become much of a problem. I think I'll put it in a trough
with the few miniature hostas that managed to survive this
past winter.
Let's start a conversation about the "hardiest" plants for
troughs in cold regions. We'll assume the person with the
trough is unable to move it to a protected spot for the
winter. (This happened to me last fall--I didn't have
anyone around who could be asked to move it for me!). What
are your experiences with troughs just left sitting in the
garden for the winter?
