u Hypertufa Trough Gardens in Winter

Both troughs that I made in the workshop had the fiberglass fibres in
them, yet they still froze.  I didn't have the carport at the time and
they were outside exposed to the elements.  If I keep it under the
carport, will I have to water the plants? Thanks, Judy Showers
