Hello Rosarians,
I am now putting out a call for HELP. This is a revision and Thank you in
advance for the help I get.
Here is my list.
"Cuddles" This is an ARS Award of Excellence winner but must be older than
the supplement. I had already checked back in the copy of MR10 to the HRS
library (Murphy's Law I guess). Can someone look this up for me (try MR10
page 119)??
"Blue Cupido" (RUIbleu) (Pat. # 9735) I did find information by looking up
the information for the patent. I found that on the web. The rose was
"invented" by Antonius A. Pouw, Netherlands, and the patent was assigned to
De Ruiter's New Roses (De Ruiter Nieuwe Rozen B.R.) Netherlands.
"Canyon Cupido" (P.P.A.F.) and P.B.R. applied for --- That indicates it is
even newer than the others and that the hybridizer is A. A. Pouw and the
patent will be assigned to De Ruiter's New Roses in Netherlands. Actually I
saw a fairly recent patent for a rose called RUIfire which was described as
haveing yellow and orange bi-color blooms which would fit the description of
this rose but at this point I cannot be sure they are the same.
"Cherry Cupido" (RUIjef) (Pat. # 9635) Found info at US patent office site.
Note the references for hybridizer and assignee above. This is another rose
belonging to De Ruiter's New Roses.
"Orange" (POULroar) (P.P.A.F.) This baby was a gift to my wife from her
boss.
That is rather funny as just after i acquired the two roses at the HRS spring
show on Saturday, she adamantly stated "No more Roses, for now!" She couldn't
blame this on me. He! He! It has rather simple orange/red blooms. I have
seen other patented roses listed with official names like POULavon, POULfect,
and POULtin. Each of these are hybridized by Mogens N. and Pernille Olesen of
Fredensborg Denmark and the patent is assigned to Bear Creek Gardens of
Medford OR.
Sweet Mini-Wonder (MEIlipo) (p.p. # 8504) I found the patent information on
this rose and I determined that the assignee was Conard-Pyle Co. of West
Grove,
PA.
Well the two that were listed as PPAF are still hanging fire and I would sure
like to get some descriptions. HELP me Fellow Rosarians!!! PLEASE.
TIA Bill G.
