Mine get almost a full day of sun on the south side of the house.  Temps
are really high, many days in high 90's.  Lots of wind as well.  Sandy
soil.  I watered about every 3 days when it was windy, once every 5 days
when it wasn't.  I got my roses from California so they were accustomed
to heat.
