Re: roses in pots

Hello,
I am no expert but I have experimented with mine on a dangerouse level.
I have transfered my from pots into the ground and from the ground into pots
because I simply did not know what to do with them.
In my case I have had tremendous luck with them. I have never lost a one.
In fact I didn't know what to do with a bunch of them so I put them in a pot
and forgot about them over the winter, I never did any winterizing except for
cutting them down to ground level and then covering them with dirt and they
all came back stronger then the ones I winterized in the ground.
I wouldn't worry unless you have a sensitive type of rose.
What I would do is wait till they are done blooming and then plant them where
needed and then cut them all down and then cover them with a mulch to keep
them from freezing over the winter.
I am no expert but sometimes us uneducated gardeners have the best luck and
we know nothing :)
Good Luck,
Annette Klein
