Water Needs & HELLOOOO out there!

Hi All,

How are your gardens doing?

I'm amazed at how much mulch I go through, the ground just slurps it up.
To meet the watering needs of the roses, I'm again working on installing a
drip emitter irrigation system.  I know it is said, that they need some 1-2
inches of water per week, but how does that translate into gallons?
I realize there are many factors including climate, rainfall, amount of
mulch and sunshine.

How many gallons does each rose need per week?  
How do you deside your roses are getting enough water?
