Re: OT & Wind Troubles

Carleen:

Just picked myself up off the floor after conjuring up pictures of girdles
wrapped
around the comely waists of precious young rose bushes, but seriously, as we
all have this problem from time to time, I started to think about ways to
encompass
numerous bushes in certain areas and I wonder if the fruit tree nets, used as
bird
deterents, might not be put to use in some way. I can't figure out how to
anchor
them to the ground, however. Perhaps fashioning 4 equi-distant loops from the
edge of the netting and winding them around stakes as those used for young
trees/whips for their first winter or two, could work. I don't believe the
nets are expensive. If this
idea has any merit, does anyone have any economical sources? I'd be interested
in
purchasing a few, too.
