Yep! I bud roses. My joy is doing standards from 2' patios to 10'
weepers! I've got over 20 standards of various heighths in the San Jose
Heritage Rose Garden. I'm a great supporter of 4', 3 piece standards.
Muc
h more of a statement then the common 3' Dr Huey stuff you see in the
stores that lives only 12 - 15 years.
I've stuck 30 Manetti cuttings at home to bud some of my favorites in the
summer. I feel for your friend. I like to do some great old, near
extinct roses and to put some varieties on standards that others don't
think to try. One of my challenge next summer is to do a 6' Betty Boop
standard. I've got a feeling it will be a magnificent medium cascade.
We'll see.

Mel
