I just received my shipment of 10 miniatures which now brings my total count
of roses to 21. They are:
Rosa palustris scandens (Swamp Rose)
OGR's: Mutabilis, Louis Philippe, Cramoisi Superieur, Dortmund
Miniatures: Black Jade, Winsome, Child's Play, Chasin' Rainbows,
Bambino, Jeanne Lajoie, Jean Keneally, Absolutely, Jerry-O,
Scentsational, Livewire, Sunny Day, and two more which I
think are Autumn Sunblaze, and a yellow sunblaze.
The miniatures came in very small and I will plant them in containers so I
will
look for another larger climber which I will put in the garden on the side
opposite the Dortmund. I know that the Jeanne Lajoie is also a climber but I
will try to set it up in a pot where I can locate a smaller type trellis
behind
it. These are some of the challenges I have to deal with.
Otherwise I can say that I still have at least two more roses on my definite
"get" list. Those are the R. roulettii, and a miniature Meidilland rose
called
"Candy Sunblaze" which I may put in the herb garden as a culinary rose. I
will
decide on another rose which can be trained as a climber that stays just a
little
smaller but if anyone has a suggestion I am inclined to OGR's. I may just put
a regular Rose there and not a climber. In that case my possibilities are
endless!!!
