Duncan:
My dog adores aged manure (sorry to say), cocoa shell mulch (it does smell
yummy
when fresh), fish emulsion, cultivated dirt (easy to dig up), branches
(denuded some
mature euonymous shrubs), anything that can be hauled out of the ground (it's
fun
to tug on things). The strange thing is that some of your roses must have
thorns and
my dogs avoid those. I've heard that some dogs will dig up anything planted in
an
area he covets for himself - as if the plants are interlopers.
What kind of dog (personality-wise) is he? Do you think he knows it annoys you
but
that it gets your attention? You mentioned that another child is on the way -
he may feel left out and be "taking it out on you" - very common problem.
Hope some of this is helpful.
Best, Joanie Z.5a
