[Rose-list] Dogs in gardens

Dogs can easily be taught to stay out of flower beds. They may still run
through during play, but as a matter or course, they'll keep out. Every
time your dog steps into the bed, command "off" and pull him out. Then tell
him to roll on the grass (you'll have to teach him that too) and throw a
small treat for him to catch. He'll soon understand that the grass is for
him to play on and the beds are outlawed. Dogs need abou 10 minutes a day
of training, just go over all the commands you use in an enthusiastic
voice. It re-establishes your dominance, the dog's confidence, and is fun
for both of you.
