We also have a problem with black spot, we blame it on our high humidity
for lack of a better reason. While we definitely find Hybrid Teas more
prone to black spot this is not always the case. Some our quite resistant
such as Candy Stripe or Flaming Peace. We at one time lived in Nebraska
and had no black spot on our Hybrid Teas. When we moved to Michigan we
brought 40 Hybrid Teas with us and within a year had lots of problems
with black spot. It took us three moves in the garden to find a location
where black spot was less a problem. Not easy with 40-60 roses but it
helped. We are not sure that being on graft root stock is a problem. We
would suggest looking more to resistant varieties.
