Where's Carleen when we really need her? She'll pipe in soon, I'm sure, but
until then I'm hopeless. Who else can help here? I did have a Rugosa 'Sarah
Van Fleet' which had a lovely aroma but not one that would drift into the
house. Beautiful blossoms and deadly thorns. Grew to 6' in its first summer
from a two-year old
plant. Yowser!

(Blanc Double de Courbet)

<<How would you describe the leaves of yours - are they really blue-green or
just
not true-green?>>

Well, I planted it mid-summer of '00 and it happyily put out a couple of
blooms...tissue paper thin and truly lovely but I don't remember that the
leaves had much of a blue tone. Rather, a mid-darkish green - darker than my
Rugosa alba, which is more of a light green. Love both but I suspect the
Blanc will have a prettier
habit.
