I don't know the specific germination time for R. canina, but the range is
from 3 weeks to over 4 months! Don't give up!

Subject: R. Carnina Seed
Hello to All.
Thanks Dave and Carleen for your input on how to stratify seed. I soaked
my refrigerated R. Carnina seed overnight and planted them this past
weekend. Got my fingers and toes crossed!!! ;-).
Does anyone know the germination times for rose seed? I planted them in
a soiless mixture and put them outside in a bright place with plastic wrap
over the top of the pot. I was wondering if bottom heat would help them
germinate faster.
Carleen, were you able to find a source for "sweetbrier" - r. eglanteria
seed? I don't think Richter's had those.
Best Wishes!
