Re: Pale Leaves - Reply


Oh, dear, I'm afraid I wasn't clear in my first reply.  I meant to say that
there was more than one cause for pale leaves with green veins.

Sulfur makes the soil more acid.  If your soil is already at the proper pH
for roses (about 6.5) you don't want to add sulfur.  If the soil is
saturated and the plants are oxygen starved, the only thing I know to do is
wait until it dries out or move the plants.  Adding iron and sulfur won't
help.

It's always a good idea to get a soil test before adding anything that will
affect the pH level.
